Integration Design Engineer - Frederick, MD

Rohde & Schwarz USA's critical infrastructure business unit is expanding and seeking talent with networking and software system integration experience. This Integration Design Engineer position will support our Air Traffic Control (ATC) programs and be part of the Design Engineering team. Strong candidates will have experience with IP-based voice communication systems, be goal oriented, and customer focused. In this role, the successful candidate will create design packages for both standard products and for custom projects. This job requires being in our Frederick, MD facility full time 5 days per week; candidates must be a US person capable of receiving a U.S. Government public trust clearance.

Your tasks

  • Design and draw mechanical components for server rack assemblies using Siemens NX
  • Create and release BOMs for server rack assemblies using R&S PDM software
  • Produce detail drawings for internal and external manufacturing
  • Produce assembly drawings, and electrical diagrams for production floor
  • Interpret and present designs using neat, accurate, and well-planned engineering drawing methods
  • Work closely with systems engineering, planning, and technicians to optimize designs
  • Work independently on multiple projects concurrently

Your qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of professional engineering experience
  • 3D parametric modeling experience, preferably Siemens NX, others acceptable
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience working with and designing assemblies for PDM/PLM release
  • Experience using Microsoft Visio
  • Working knowledge of MS Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to understand other engineering disciplines' needs and translate to mechanical requirements
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

The total compensation for this position is $65K-$90K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
