SUMMARY

The Electronics Assembly Operator performs assembly operations to mass-produce electronic products, including relays, thermostats, actuators, and other heating and cooling control devices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Make sure print and routing ECL's are up to date.
  • Places parts in specified relationship to each other according to prints and routings.
  • Glue, clamp, screw, or solder parts together.
  • Tends machines, such as arbor presses, punch presses, mold machines, or riveting machines.
  • Works at different workstations on different products as production needs require.
  • Works on the production assembly line where tasks vary as different model of same article moves along line.
  • The Production Assembler Operator has the responsibility and authority to bring attention to a problem that would compromise the quality of work, the safety of an individual, or damage to machinery.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Less than High School education; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and part aid prints. Ability to enter production using Epicor MES. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one discussion with supervisor and Co-workers

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract multi-digit numbers.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS 1

The ability to use small hand tools and power screw guns. With training, use of soldering equipment.
