Mechanical Design Engineer

Payrate: $38.00 - $42.00/hr.

Summary:

The Drivetrain Component Team has design responsibility for parts used across machines. This role is a Design Engineer in the Drivetrain Castings Component Team support clutch housing, reaction hubs, and motor cooling housing. Tasks will be directed by a Senior Engineer on the team and include concept modeling, stress & life analysis, assessing part nonconformance risk, amongst others.

Responsibilities:

• Concept design and part modeling using Creo.
• Stress & life analysis
• Assessing risk of part nonconformances
• Reviewing PPAP information
• Participating in CPPD discussions with suppliers

Education & Experience Required:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Creo
• Understand basic geometric tolerancing
• Proficient in Creo Simulate FEA
• Experience in steel or iron casting design
• Practical/hands-on experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude

Soft Skills:

• Strong initiative
• Effective verbal & written communicator
• Can managing individual tasks to meet deadlines
• Open to input & feedback from others
• Works well with other engineers, suppliers, and internal process partners
• Eagerness to learn new things

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $38.00 - $42.00/hr. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
