Job Title: Pipe Layer
Job Type: Permanent/Full time
Days/Hours: 5 Days a week (50 hours)
Rate of Pay: $16.00
Location of Work: Gulf County
Position Summary:
Preparing site for storm sewer, water and wastewater for public works and commercial/private projects including line, grade, exposing existing utilities and tie-ins to existing utilities. Installing sanitary and storm sewer on line and at grade. Perform all activities associated with installing pipe, fittings, and valves structures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Help foreman coordinate materials, crew members and equipment to install underground pipe.
Determine pipe elevation; alignment and grade
Use equipment to lay pipe on grade with horizontal and vertical accuracy.
Standing, bending for extensive periods of time.
Must be able to mount and dismount off vehicles and/or equipment.
Shovel, rake and spread dirt.
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
Miscellaneous labor, site preparation and site clean-up
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
2 year experience required
High School diploma or equivalent required
Desired Skills
Completion of a storm, water main, and/or a sanitary sewer pipe project within the last five years.
Full range of body motion including handling and operating leavers or controls, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
