The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Plant Engineering Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Maintaining, repairing, and protecting assets in the 3M Brownwood facility

Working with engineering and production personnel during troubleshooting, modification, fabrication, machining, welding and repair of plant utility and process equipment

Performing routine preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment such as drives, motors, pumps, overhead hoists, boilers, compressors, rotary equipment, air handling equipment, and plant process/support equipment

Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, AC/DC electrical systems, PLC's, HMI's, motors, controls, VFD's and related equipment

Assist in developing plans to correct equipment deficiencies and determining long term solutions for equipment issues to improve reliability

Complete other duties as assigned or necessary including the willingness to work overtime, various shifts, and to be on-call

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Four (4) years of Industrial Maintenance experience in a multi-craft mechanical/electrical or controls maintenance position

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Two (2) year technical degree/diploma (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in a multi-craft technology program

Experience troubleshooting and repairing the following types of equipment in a manufacturing environment: motors, pumps, web handling systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drive systems and related components, valves, brakes, and clutches

Demonstrated proficiency working with electro-mechanical equipment such as pumps, AC/DC motors, motor drives, PLC troubleshooting, etc.

Advanced troubleshooting and repair experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems in an industrial environment.

Experience in Industrial lasers

Demonstrated strong problem-solving and computer skills.

This position may require working overtime, working weekends, and working holidays, as needed. This position is on a slow rotating shift.
