Job Summary
Perform facility and civil infrastructure inspections, targeting condition assessment. Record system assessments and make recommendation for repair or recapitalization. Perform general cost estimates for facility assets in poor condition, when required. Provide technical assistance with asset management and real property associated tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, perform assigned facility and infrastructure condition assessments utilizing UNIFORMAT II template for facility condition assessments (FCAs). Assessments involve condition reporting of building systems from roofs to foundations. Tasks will be scheduled on a recurring basis.
- Utilize established inspection criteria to perform inspections and assessments but also exercises a high degree of independent judgement and decision-making during inspection and assessment activities. Update FCA results in SMS Builder.
- Run reports from SMS Builder to track currency and completion of facility assessments. Update Builder SMS information from submitted DD 1354 forms or other documents validating asset repair, replacement or upgrade.
- Collect, evaluate, and compile information from source materials in support of asset management tasks including, but not limited to, real property inventories, facility space allocation surveys, and physical surveys.
- Assist with various Real Property tasks including Boundary Inspections, and Compliance Inspections. Assist team with short-suspense taskers which may include investigative field work to collect data and verify existence and completeness of various facilities.
Educational/Training Requirements:
Requires an associate degree in computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) or Construction Technology. Equivalent education/experience is applicable.
Skill Requirements/Qualifications:
Working knowledge of GIS software (ESRI) desired. Valid FL Driver License. Must currently possess a security clearance or ability to obtain one. US Citizenship is required for obtaining a security clearance.
Work Environment
Standard administrative/office environment. Computers and associated office equipment will be available as required. Working in a field environment also required.
Physical location and workstation space may comply with standards established by the USAF/USSF facility space requirements and may require working close to others. Use of audio equipment may be used without interference to others. Use of headphones or similar equipment may be used if devices do not impair or restrict effectiveness of fire or other safety alarms or notices.
Physical Demands:
Field work will be required to investigate new construction/repair project requirements and evaluate/assess existing facility and infrastructure systems. Walking, standing, & sitting. Use of stairs is required to access the work environment.
