About the role POSITION SUMMARY The Business Development Manager role within the Refinery Services Group (RSG) aids in the building of market position by assisting in the development, negotiation, and closing of refinery projects as identified by the RSG Sales team. This position is in office in Sumter, SC. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Primary duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and always acting in a safe manner Develops proposals that meet customer objectives and timeline; prioritizes and coordinates sampling and job walk activities with the Project Development Manager (PDM); works with the PDM to formulate individual Scopes of Work for Customer projects. Works with Material Repurposing Coordinator to ensure sample delivery with labs and cement kilns as appropriate. Makes recommendations on scope of work's fit within RSG business model; identifies conflicts with due dates and resource conflicts with ongoing RSG projects. Develops and maintains job files for all projects to include RFP documents, drawings, waste profiles, facility approval letters, assumptions, job cost models, bid documents & revisions and correspondence. Reviews bid documents with PDM for special requirements (i.e. insurance, training, union issues, etc.); distribute bid documents for RSG peer review; coordinate bid review calls with appropriate management for final review and sign off. Obtain assistance from other departments as required to prepare the proposal. Retains responsibility for bid preparation, write up and submittal. Maintains knowledge of approved company vendors, estimating methods, Customer MSAs, as well as project execution procedures. Conducts project "Lookbacks" with Customers, Operations, Sales to obtain performance feedback, competitive data and document "lessons learned" for incorporation into future proposals. Develops, refines and maintains a proposal language library to support various scopes of work for RSG service offerings. Monitors Sales Force input by Sales staff; prepare monthly sales performance reports Participates in weekly Sales and Operations meetings as required. Perform job walks and visits project locations; meets customers and serves as a liaison for customers concerning work in progress inquiries when required. Assists Field Services in writing change orders and modifying work plans when site conditions vary from proposed. Integrate and reconcile contract requirements and MSA agreements with RSG Terms and Conditions. Provide marketing and sales support by participating in direct marketing presentations and sales calls, industry trade shows and the development of marketing and branding advertising initiatives. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential; maintain profitability margins established by RSG Management. Collaborates with Reworld Marketing team to provide updates to RSG representation on Reworld website Create & maintain a library of White Papers, Case Studies & Project Summaries Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management as required by needs of the business. QUALIFICA TIONS Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science or related field preferred 3-5 years of environmental experience with a focus on hazardous waste disposal and transportation and RSG preferred Must be motivated, self-starter with high Energy Level Requires Closing, Presentation and Prospecting Skills Possess knowledge of the hazardous waste market and RCRA, CERCLA, DOT and OSHA regulations, familiar with API procedures and standards Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates professionalism; leads and inspires others through actions and deeds.
