Zone Mechanic - Weekend Job Description The Zone Maintenance Mechanic will perform inspections, maintenance, and repair work on building systems and components. This work is performed under general supervision using tools and techniques of various technologies, including electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing. Responsibilities Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on building systems and components. Apply knowledge of basic electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing techniques and procedures. Ensure compliance with building elements and codes. Adhere to safety rules, procedures, and practices, including proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards. Identify and avoid hazards using warning labels, signage, lights, and other warning devices. Perform work efficiently within timeframes measured against trade, industry, or engineered standards. Essential Skills Proficient written and verbal English communication skills at a high school graduate level. Ability to solve problems and manage information effectively. Knowledge of building elements and safety codes. Proficiency in facility maintenance, HVAC, building maintenance, and general building maintenance. Additional Skills & Qualifications 5 years of experience in preventive maintenance. Experience in commercial building electrical, plumbing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. Why Work Here? Tasks may be performed outdoors with exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions. Work involves navigating confined spaces and awkward positions, as well as heights up to 30 feet using ladders, lifts, and equipment. Requires the ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and handle tools, equipment, and materials, including pushing/pulling loaded hand trucks weighing up to 75 pounds. Schedule includes weekend shifts from 7am to 11:30pm plus an additional 8 hours during the week in a hospital shop environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
