What You Will Do

This position will report to the TA55 Operations Manager. The Manufacturing Manager 1 will be delegated the Equipment Operations Supervisor duties responsible for providing day-to-day oversight to the Equipment Operator team. This will be responsible for providing Operations Center support for all facility equipment operation activities within the TA-55 Protected Area and immediately adjacent support facilities (eg rounds, on-call operator scheduling, facility owned equipment operation, facility gas and chemical management, surveillance performance, initial response for trolley malfunctions). The position will have input to performance grading but will not be responsible for evaluations.

What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: Operational Systems: Advanced experience with equipment operations in a nuclear facility or equivalent (HVAC, chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers/chemical addition, air compressors, fire suppression/detection, electrical distribution, diesel generators etc) Leadership: Familiarity with acting as 'Person-in-Charge' or Leader during abnormal or emergent events. Problem Solving: Experience and demonstrated skill in identifying problem areas, investigating alternative solutions, and determining action to be performed on problems affecting operations management. Management: Expert experience and understanding of the following aspects of operations management as applied to a Nuclear Facility: systems engineering, work control, hazard identification and analysis, formality of operations implementation, work control, work request, FSR processes, IWD reviews. Maintenance: Working knowledge of LANL conduct of maintenance, conduct of engineering, conduct of operations and quality assurance programs. Policy and Procedure: Thorough understanding of the concepts and principles of Integrated Work Management, Integrated Safety Management (ISM) and Integrated Safeguards and Security Management (ISSM), or equivalent non-DOE programs, including experience reviewing, approving, and authorizing both facility and programmatic work as demonstrated through activity approval processes, IWD and work package reviews and approvals.
