OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
The Sr. Electrical Engineer will work with the process engineering team to make improvements to existing workflows, equipment and will contribute to the design of any new line additions or facilities. As a key member of the Process Engineering Department, the Sr. Electrical Engineer will have the opportunity to provide their expertise to a dynamic and growing organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze existing electrical systems and make cost-effective improvements
Design systems and electrical panel boards to integrate equipment to process requirements according to NFPA standards.
Liaise with clients, vendors, and other engineers to ensure projects are completed to specifications.
Prepare detailed design drawings, calculate materials requirements, and develop cost estimates for projects
Review plans for electrical equipment such as power generating stations, substations, transmission lines, transformers, and switchgear to ensure compliance with safety codes
Maintain records of engineering designs and drawings in an electronic database
Perform electrical engineering analysis and design tasks, such as determining the appropriate electrical system configuration for current and new facilities, load calculations, and identify energy savings opportunities
Plan, schedule and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work either as part of a major project or for an entire project of smaller scope
Review contractors' work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
Utilize National Electrical Code to design electrical systems, engineer and supervise the construction of various capital projects by internal staff or external contractors.
Ensure the design and testing of projects are carried out under safety and functionality standards such as UL and IEC
Prepare detailed drawings for current and future plant general arrangements, power single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, instrumentation loop diagrams, P&IDs, control system architecture drawings, and cable, instrument, and I/O schedules at detailed design level

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required
Minimum of 5 - 10 years of electrical engineering experience in the manufacturing industry required
Proven experience working with design codes and standards such NEC, IEC and UL
