Plumber

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Analyzes blue prints, schematics, and drawings of plumbing systems to determine most efficient means of repair.
• Coordinates, as required, for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
• Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in plumbing systems for the purpose of identifying repair and/or replacement needs.
• Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
• Inspects buildings and facilities for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
• Installs plumbing systems and fixtures (e.g. hot water heaters, drinking fountains, etc.).
• Maintains vehicle, tools and equipment in safe working condition.
• Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
• Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
• Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
• Orders essential supplies, materials, and parts as necessary.
• Provides assistance to the other sections, as may be required, to continue service of various systems

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma Required
• Valid journeyman plumber’s license is preferred

Work Conditions:

• The job requires the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity.
• The job is performed under some extreme temperatures and in a generally hazard-free environment.
