Position Summary:

The Materials Supervisor oversees all material handling operations, ensures inventory accuracy, and drives efficient flow of materials throughout the facility. (Receiving, materials flow, and shipping). This position provides direct leadership to the first shift material handling team, while also ensuring visibility and alignment of activities across both shifts. The role will partner closely with Planning, Procurement, and Operations to support uninterrupted production flow, optimize material availability, and contribute to the achievement of business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and supervise all materials personnel, including shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and promote a strong safety-first culture within the team.
  • Coordinate daily workload assignments and provide clear direction to the materials team; monitor and track workload execution across first and second shifts.
  • Establish and maintain standard work procedures across both shifts, ensuring process consistency and discipline.
  • Manage daily inventory accuracy activities, including cycle counts, reconciliations, and system adjustments (Syteline).
  • Drive the aged inventory review process and execute necessary corrective actions.
  • Identify and resolve material shortages and discrepancies through structured root cause analysis and problem-solving.
  • Partner with Planning and Procurement to ensure material flow aligns with production schedules, proactively mitigating risks of shortages or idle equipment.
  • Oversee 5S and continuous improvement activities within the materials area.
  • Develop cross-training plans to build team capability and flexibility.
  • Support company objectives for inventory accuracy, scrap reduction, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop teams.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Syteline preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to implement sustainable solutions.

Education and Experience:

  • Supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated.
  • Experience in materials and inventory management is highly desirable.
  • A bachelors degree in business, materials management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 quality standards is an asset.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and walk throughout the facility as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires 100% on-site presence.

Work Arrangement : Onsite

Pay Range: $82,275 - $90,545 annually

Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
