Senior Project Engineer
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Project Engineer to play a critical role in the successful delivery of a fast-paced, high-profile $50 million commercial construction project. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who excels in coordination, technical management, and field integration in high-demand environments where speed, precision, and teamwork are essential.
The Senior Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager and field leadership to manage project documentation, drive scheduling and procurement, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure quality and safety compliance throughout all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Support overall project execution from preconstruction through closeout on a large-scale, fast-track commercial construction project.
Review and interpret contract drawings and specification books for construction accuracy.
Develop and manage submittals based on specification requirements.
Track critical path items and procurement schedules to proactively prevent delays.
Manage and maintain RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence using project management platforms (e.g., Procore).
Collaborate with field superintendents to ensure seamless subcontractor coordination and field execution.
Maintain and update detailed project schedules and short-term look-aheads aligned with project milestones.
Lead subcontractor and vendor coordination meetings to ensure timely performance and accountability.
Assist in buyout, including bid leveling, scope definition, and contract preparation.
Analyze plans and specifications to identify conflicts and improve constructability.
Partner with the project team to process payment applications, track budget exposure, and manage cost events.
Ensure compliance with all site safety protocols and quality control standards.
Generate timely project reports, meeting documentation, and other deliverables.
Support project closeout activities including punch lists, as-built drawings, and warranty package preparation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
10–15 years of experience in construction engineering or project coordination on projects exceeding $10M.
Deep understanding of fast-track construction processes and scheduling.
Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities, with attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and project management tools such as Procore, Primavera P6, or MS Project.
Solid knowledge of CSI divisions, contract terminology, and construction logistics.
