Job Description We are seeking an Electronics Engineer Lead to join our growing Tactical Systems Department. Our department develops cutting-edge, ruggedized military hardware to support operations via air, land, or sea, focusing on tightly integrated, compact sensing and computing technologies to deliver mission-critical information. The successful candidate will lead the development of vetronics products for DoD applications, managing support across mixed-signal analog/digital design, FPGA/microcontroller development, and full system integration. Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical engineering team in new product development to meet customer requirements and company objectives.
- Support the definition of hardware architectures, ensuring alignment with functional requirements, design re-use, manufacturability, and testability.
- Oversee design, analysis, and testing, ensuring compliance with MIL standards and meeting ruggedization, EMI/EMC, and power requirements.
- Manage the development of high-quality documentation packages, including schematics, parts lists, test plans, qualification reports, and technical manuals.
- Guide hardware/software integration and acceptance testing, providing oversight and feedback on deliverables.
- Engage in hands-on design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving as needed in areas of expertise.
- Mentor the electrical engineering team to enhance skills and maintain high performance.
- Collaborate with tech leads, program managers, and principal investigators on task assignments, budget allocation, and project planning.
- Provide technical insight, planning, and progress updates to stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- B.S. or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in analog/digital circuit design and embedded electronics firmware development.
- 2+ years of management experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience in designing and troubleshooting microcontroller and FPGA-based systems.
- Proficiency in E-CAD tools, preferably Altium, and generating fabrication/assembly drawings.
- Proficiency in C programming for microcontrollers and/or VHDL/Verilog for firmware.
- Experience with environmental and EMI/EMC qualification testing per MIL standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems engineering skills.
- Collaborative and adaptable, able to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to customers, program managers, and technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with SBIR programs and transitioning technologies from prototype to production.
- Familiarity with military vehicle integration, qualification testing, and field support.
- Experience in developing/managing CONOPs, system design, architecture, and requirements.
