Schedule: Mon 1:30-11:30 Tues-Thurs 3:30-1:30 am
Pay Rate: $20-22 + $2.00/hr Shift Differential

American Products is seeking a Class B Welder to join our Cell 5 team. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled welders with at least 6 months of MIG welding experience or those who have already progressed beyond entry-level (Class C). What You’ll Do:
- Perform high-quality MIG welding on components such as doors, sills, and handles
- Tack weld and grind efficiently as needed for part quality
- Use blueprints and part lists to guide assembly and welding tasks
- Read tape measures accurately for proper layout and alignment
- Rotate across Cell 5 to perform a variety of tasks including stud and bung welds
- Use hand tools and shop equipment safely and correctly
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Wear required PPE and follow all safety guidelines
- Stand for the full shift and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED preferred, not required
- Minimum 6 months of MIG welding experience OR completion of welding trade school
- Able to read blueprints, interpret tolerances, and follow specifications
- Tape measure proficiency and solid math skills
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Dependable, punctual, and a team player
- Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
Class B Welder Requirements & Advancement
To be hired as or promoted to a Class B Welder, candidates must successfully pass:
Weld Tests (Vertical Welds):
- 3 Lap Welds – Carbon to Carbon, Stainless to Carbon, Stainless to Stainless
- 3 T-Welds – Carbon to Carbon, Stainless to Carbon, Stainless to Stainless
Grinding Test:
- Must grind welds flush without gouging or thinning the metal
Blueprint & Tape Measure Tests:
- Demonstrate understanding of part lists, tolerances, and revisions
- Accurately read measurements using a standard tape measure
Additionally, team members must complete training in 5S, quality standards, and blueprint reading and remain in their current classification for at least 90 days prior to moving up.
