What Will Do You
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer for the CMC (Ceramic Matrix Composite) team in East Hartford, CT. The Project Engineer will manage projects from component design through manufacture.
Job responsibilities include:
- Coordinate design, fabrication, and validation of CMC components
- Develop project plans, schedules, resource requirements and budgets for assigned projects working with a range of functional organizations to ensure alignment
- Support the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities for projects
- Forecast project commitments and expenditures
- Maintain and present plans and progress reports relating to the project(s) to track progress and ensure that established targets are met
- Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies to meet project goals and objectives
- Ensure successful project completion including holding team members accountable to their commitments
Qualifications You Must Have
- BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 5 years of engineering experience, 3 years with an advanced degree
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing and engineering presentations to all levels of Engineering and Program management.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations and management.
- Focus on results with the ability to drive projects to successful completion.
- Experience and understanding of project management and planning, including budget / schedule management, using toolsets and Agile principles (e.g., SAP, Agile, JIRA, Excel and MS Project).
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage and communicate complex issues clearly at various organizational levels.
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance

Hot Section Engineering (HSE)
Hot Section Engineering is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation and in service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units.
Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability and Product Definition.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
