Position Overview
Were seeking a skilled Industrial Painter with proven experience in conventional coatings (brush, roller, and spray) to join our dynamic team. You will play a critical role in surface preparation and application of protective coatings on heavy industrial structures, equipment, and offshore assets.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare surfaces using grit blasting, power tools, and hand tools to achieve specified surface profiles
Mix, thin, and apply conventional coatings (alkyds, epoxies, urethanes) according to manufacturers specifications
Operate spray rigs, airless sprayers, brushes, and rollers to achieve uniform coverage and film thickness
Inspect and ensure coating integrity, noting any defects (runs, sags, dry spray) and performing touch-ups as needed
Read and interpret paint specifications, safety data sheets (SDS), and work orders
Maintain and clean equipment, tools, and work areas in accordance with safety and environmental regulations
Collaborate with project supervisors and other trades to meet project milestones and quality standards
Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and confined-space entry protocols
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of industrial painting experience with conventional coatings
Proficiency in surface preparation techniques (blast, hand tool, power tool)
Working knowledge of coating products and application methods (brush, roller, spray)
Ability to read paint specifications, baking curves, and film thickness charts
Comfortable working at heights, on scaffolding, and in confined spaces
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Forklift and aerial lift certification a plus
