About the Role
As a Community Maintenance Supervisor at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in overseeing the maintenance and repair of community facilities and equipment to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for residents. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool systems, and a commitment to operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with maintenance staff, vendors, property management, and residents to maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and resident satisfaction. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys problem-solving, and excels at team leadership. This job is reporting to our FLATZ 623 located in Avondale, AZ.

What Youll Do
Supervises maintenance technicians and porters, ensuring timely and effective task completion and promoting a culture of accountability and safety.
Reviews and prioritizes work orders, unit turns, and preventive maintenance schedules, ensuring operational efficiency.
Diagnoses and addresses maintenance issues across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairs to maintain community functionality.
Manages vendor relationships, negotiates contracts, and oversees procurement of maintenance supplies to optimize costs and service quality.
Conducts property inspections, oversees pool and spa water quality compliance, and ensures adherence to OSHA and safety protocols.

Who You Are
35+ years of progressive experience in property maintenance, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in facilities management or related field preferred.
Technical proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool systems; EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred), Certified Pool Operator (CPO) required, OSHA certification preferred.
Experienced with Yardi software or equivalent maintenance management systems.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Valid Drivers License and eligibility to work in the United States.

Physical Abilities
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Prolonged standing, walking, climbing ladders, and navigating stairs during inspections and supervision.
Capability to bend, kneel, crouch, and operate hand tools proficiently.
Clear vision and hearing necessary for safety inspections and equipment monitoring.
Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions.
