Description

Leidos has an excellent opportunity on the Cargo Mission Contract (CMC) in support of EHP programs. In this position, the employee will be located onsite at Johnson Space Center, Houston TX. Domestic travel will be required.

The Government Furnished Property (GFP) Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting Government Furnished Property (GFP) and Utilization Projects within the EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP). This role ensures consistent and efficient project execution to project lifecycles, requirements, risks, schedules, and budgets while fostering collaboration across multiple programs and projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful integration and management of government-furnished assets within Artemis, contributing to mission success and operational efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate cross-program and cross-project integration efforts for GFP and Utilization Projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain lifecycle and process plans to ensure effective management of government-furnished assets.
  • Identify, track, and manage GFP requirements and associated risks to mitigate potential issues.
  • Collaborate closely with Program/Project Systems Engineering teams to ensure alignment and compliance with technical and programmatic objectives.
  • Perform technical evaluations and assessments to support decision-making related to GFP integration.
  • Manage hardware development projects to certify, flight-configure, and deliver new hardware for EHP
  • Create and maintain project resource-loaded schedules in MS Project Professional
  • Review and develop basis-of-estimates (BOEs)

Basic Qualifications: Requires Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years relevant experience, including:

  • Experience in risk management, lifecycle planning, and technical evaluation methodologies.
  • Experience in creating BOEs for new projects as well as Cost Accounting Management (CAM) and Earned Value (EV)
  • Experience with proposal development and feasibility assessment for new business opportunities
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience with NASA processes for spaceflight hardware development and certification, anomaly resolution, configuration management, quality assurance, design, requirements/verification, materials, safety, cargo processing, disposal, manifest, hardware downgrade, toxicology
  • Experience in planning and tracking project labor, material, and product deliverables for projects
  • Experience working with multi-discipline teams and customers and both strong oral and written communication skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with presenting technical and financial project status to large groups such as technical NASA boards
  • Knowledge of logistics, property, and traceability requirements for the various classifications of NASA government property
  • Formal Project Management training and familiarity with NPR 7120, NPR 7123 and or EA-WI-023.

Pay Range: Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
