Your contribution!

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Operator will provide technical assistance in the performance associated with the power plants. You will provide services that will maximize the reliability and efficiency of the generating stations' control systems and auxiliary equipment and be able to operate the plants onsite if needed and assist the remote operators as required.

Your day-to-day!

  • Help develop procedures in the calibration and maintenance of plant instrumentation and process control systems and operation;
  • Give technical assistance to personnel in the use of procedures and evaluate the results achieved;
  • Continuously review control strategies to maximize plant efficiency, reliability, and flexibility;
  • Assist in developing and carrying out performance tests and interpreting results;
  • Perform research and investigation of equipment failures or other chronic problems to develop and recommend solutions concerning plant control systems;
  • Review specifications of newly acquired equipment. Coordinate the operational testing and the verification of quality and quantity of such equipment to make recommendations concerning the equipment acceptance;
  • Keep abreast of power plant techniques and technologies, and research and develop corporations or expansions of control systems, with emphasis on logistics, economy, and service;
  • Review and provide appropriate input concerning any recommendations about practices, procedures, system requirements or improvements to facilitate maintenance schedules, short or long range plans;
  • Operate the plants in rotating shifts for 24-hour coverage if needed during loss of communication or other circumstances.

Your skills, our requirements!

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as journeyman electrician and / or I & C experience (or) two-year degree or equivalent training;
  • High School graduate or equivalent, plus Associate Degree in I & C or Electrical Maintenance or equivalent experience;
  • Ability to comprehend complex electrical wiring diagrams and control schematics;
  • Ability to read, write and understand instructions and operating procedures;
  • Working knowledge of high voltage switchgear and switchyard equipment operation and maintenance;
  • Working knowledge of cable pulling techniques, conduit installation practices, and high voltage cable termination methods;
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, Programmable Controllers (PLC) and motor control centers;
  • Work weekend on call rotation and respond to callouts as needed.

  • The position is based in Corinth NY, at our Curtis Palmer site.
  • This position is an O3 level.

Pay Transparency Statement

Compensation for roles at Innergex varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, and level of experience.We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.

In the spirit of pay transparency we are excited to share the base salary for the position is $68 000 - $80 000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired by Innergex, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
