Summary
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for organizing and coordinating project design activities between users and design consultants. Interfacing with city/town planning boards, Planning Staffs, Zoning Board, City Council. etc on behalf of MaineHealth's project(s). Monitoring of construction activities and administering new construction and renovation building activities. Administering and maintaining the project budgets throughout the design and construction process. Developing construction schedules with the Construction Manager or Contractor. Interfacing with the Marketing and Communications office on issues relating to construction phasing and logistics.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: A professional level of knowledge in engineering, design concepts, plant operations and maintenance normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- License/Certifications: License to practice architecture or engineering in the State of Maine preferred.
- Experience: Knowledge of and experience with the International Building C ode, Life Safety Code, ADA, AIA contract documents, asbestos abatement, electrical, mechanical/plumbing and building maintenance, HVAC and energy conservation, and FGI Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Healthcare Facilities.
- Knowledge of AIA contracts, forms and procedures, necessary to enter into a legal agreement with an architectural consultant and/or contractor.
- Knowledge of the current literature, trends, and developments in the field of architecture and engineering as they relate to the healthcare industry.
- Knowledge of the basic principles of supervision, organization, and administration.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles of credits and debits necessary to maintain project budgets.
- Knowledge of construction estimating practices.
- Ability to express ideas clearly, orally, in writing, as well as graphically through drawings and sketches.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital employees and outside hospital contacts.
- Knowledge and basic understanding of the C-ritical path Method (C PM) of project scheduling.
- Knowledge of all building systems and healthcare equipment and the ability to manage related projects at a level normally acquired through approximately 10 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of construction means and methods.
- Knowledge of IBM compatible computer systems with specific experience in Microsoft Word, Power Point, MS Project, and Microsoft Excel.
