Landfill Operator - Class B CDL

Purpose of Role:
This position covers a wide range of needs for the Portland campus. Primarily hauling and managing the foundry waste generated from P3 to the Sauvie Island Land fill site. With Safety as the top priority, adhere to engineering instructions on grading material and monitor waste water system. Pick up of plant material needs. Acts as a service person for P3 needs and keeps assigned areas clean and to a level 4, 6S standard. Assists Facilities personnel on carpentry repairs and plant PM such as fire systems and environmental compliance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Operation of the following equipment:
- CDL - Class B Minimum required with dump truck and flatbed experience (Will Train the right candidate w/two year commitment)
- Front end loaders / Excavators
- Fork lift 5,000 to 30,000 lb. capacity
- Hand tools / Power tools / Lawn maintenance equipment
Other Tasks:
- Haul Foundry waste to Sauvie island site and keep grade to engineering specs.
- Pick up and delivery of product and castings on schedule or when needed to and from various locations.
- Responsible for autonomous maintenance on all landfill equipment
- Monitor waste water tanks and systems at land fill (minor pump and meter maintenance)
- Understand and ensure all DEQ and environmental requirements are met
- Maintenance parts and supplies pick up
- Keep assigned areas clean and professional looking to the highest standard around the plant and landfill
- Support any and all Site needs that arise Including facilities support
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Proven excellent reliability and attendance is required
- Must be computer literate (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to learn plant fire systems and PM procedures as a back-up to facilities
- Excellent Adherence to Safety
- Self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
