Blue Ridge Power (BRP) is seeking a Senior Manager, PV Electrical Engineering, to manage and lead BRP's PV design engineering department, supporting external engineering resources, maintaining BRP electrical design standards, ensuring project compliance with owner and regulatory requirements, design review and quality assurance, value engineering evaluation, and overall subject matter expertise in PV Electrical Engineering. The candidate must have a distinguished record of successful PV Electrical Engineering implementation and management, be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and result-oriented. This position will report to the Director of PV Electrical Engineering.
What You'll Do:
- Managing work schedules, allocating resources, and overseeing day to day operations of the PV design engineering department
- Managing PV Electrical engineering department hiring processes
- Forecasting PV design engineering bandwidth needs based on project pipeline
- Creating PV design engineering standard operating procedures, specifications, and scopes of work while coordinating with other interdepartmental processes
- Managing escalated project issues
- Managing a local, state, and federal electrical and construction codes and standards database to ensure PV design code compliancy
- Developing and managing AutoCAD PV design detail libraries and standards
- Developing and managing PV design engineering tools and templates
- Developing and managing strategic relationships with 3rd party engineering firms
- Supporting department quarterly goals
- Performing QAQC on PV design deliverables including Issued for Permit, Issued for Construction, and Record set drawings.
- Leading training initiatives for department team members.
Must-Haves:
- Experience leading PV electrical design departments for both distribution and transmission projects ranging from 10MW to 300MW.
Nice To-Haves:
- Experience leading PV electrical design departments for BESS projects
- Effective leadership skills, including mentoring, coaching, and developing employees in a team environment.
- Ability to analyze performance, process improvements, and standardization activities.
- Ability to provide engineering contracting support to Project Management and Legal Departments
- Ability to manage 3rd party engineering consultant relationships and negotiations
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
- Flexible and adaptable commercial agility; ability to reorder critical project tasks based on new commercial requirements, under tight deadlines and changing requirements.

Education and Certifications:
- Required
- 10 years experience
- Four (4) year college degree or equivalent
- Preferred
- Engineer In Training (EIT)
- Professional Engineering (PE) License
- NABCEP
Working Environment and Physical Requirements:
- May require lifting/carrying items up to 30 pounds.
- Travel up to 25%.
- Position works in and office environment.
- Must be able to sit/stand at a desk and utilize a computer, for extended periods of time.
