Responsibilities :
A Plumber, or Plumbing Technician, is a skilled tradesperson in charge of installing, inspecting and repairing pipes and plumbing systems to make sure all of a building's, unit's, or home's fixtures operate correctly.
Duties include finding the source of leaks and blockages, fixing or replacing broken parts, installing equipment, fixtures and appliances, and testing the plumbing system(s).
A plumber should perform a variety of plumbing tasks and communicate politely and professionally with both commercial and residential clients.
The plumber may be the only person a client interacts with, so customer service and maintaining The Way is a big part of the job. The ability to keep accurate and complete records is important.
Arrive at work as scheduled, accept all plumbing calls from Dispatch, call before leaving work
Be a self-starter, communicate well with clients and office to ensure client satisfaction and job completion
Carryout regular maintenance of plumbing systems at commercial and residential sites
Ability to perform critical thinking to diagnose leaks and plumbing problems
Perform installation and repair of plumbing systems according to our Procedures
Test for proper performance
Inspect previously installed plumbing systems at commercial and residential sites
Perform necessary repairs to previously installed systems
Communicate courteously and professionally with team members and fellow employees
Keep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements for the various plumbing systems
Work carefully to follow current codes and regulations to ensure that all work passes inspections
Manage time and work with accuracy and integrity, strive to complete jobs instead of having to return
Keep detailed reports of work done at various job sites
Attend meetings with Supervisor for toolbox talks and hot topics
Personal transportation is required until a company vehicle is assigned
Maintain a valid driver's license without DUI or DWI violations, and within insurance parameters
Qualifications :
Knowledge of plumbing and/or drain system maintenance, service, and labor productivity techniques
Trade experience as a plumber or plumber's apprentice with understanding of current field/code regulations
Ability to relate to team members of all skill levels and abilities
Positive attitude toward relationship building and management
Attention to detail
A high school diploma or GED
Effective and efficient time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in client and co-worker relations
Operate all vehicles and equipment in a safe manner according to law and codes, operator skills are a plus
Knowledge of federal, state, local codes
