The operation's commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking and more. Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology. **What You Will Do** + Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned engineering projects. + Manage projects and serve as subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning/construction, expansions, or modifications. + Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable processes, practices, and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations. + Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas. + Develop and evaluate AFE's (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requests. + May evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment. + May represent the site on company sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams. + Perform other duties as required. **What You Bring To Freeport** + Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline and five (5) years related experience in Engineering or a related field, OR + Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline and three (3) years related experience in Engineering or related field. + Working knowledge and experience with Civil Engineering applications, which could include design, construction and maintenance of infrastructure. + Broad knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Engineering + Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions. + Skill in managing large/complex Engineering projects. + Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written + Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement. + Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards. + Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards. **Preferred Qualifications** + Professional Engineering license. + Experience with cost estimating for civil projects, project scheduling and project controls. + Experience using engineering software (AutoCAD/Civil 3D, ArcGIS, GoldSim), programming languages. + Experience working in Mining environment and/or residential construction. **What We Offer You** The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently **$101,000-$141,000.** This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
