Machine Operator Job Description This position involves assisting in various tasks wherever needed in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities may include blasting parts, part washing, trimming parts, moving supplies, organizing parts, and assisting shipping & receiving with packaging. Additional duties involve general shop cleaning and organization. Responsibilities Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine machine setup, material type, quantity, and finish dimensions. Operate grinding tools, fixtures, and blocks to meet desired specifications. Operate robotic cells and work in FanDuct Flow Line as required. Understand grinding media and achieve finish requirements. Perform finishing operations such as breaking edges and threads, chamfering, and blending surfaces. Use hand tools, bench grinders, and disc and belt sanders to remove flashings, burrs, and surface irregularities. Properly position and use dust hoods and dust collectors to ventilate the workspace safely. Inspect or measure finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications using measuring instruments like gauges, micrometers, and profilometer. Perform simple grinding and cutting operations as directed. Conduct daily/weekly maintenance on grinding equipment and tools, including oiling, cleaning, and inspection. Document actions by accurately completing production and quality logs. Essential Skills 2+ years of manufacturing experience Ability to operate grinding tools and robotic cells Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and work orders Understanding of grinding media and finishing operations Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with hand tools, bench grinders, and sanding equipment Knowledge of machine operations and safety protocols Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a large manufacturing facility, operating on a first shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Employees work in one of two facilities in New Berlin, focusing on metal forming solutions primarily for aerospace, defense, energy, and space systems. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Waukesha, Wisconsin. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $52000.00/yr.
