Structural Mechanic IV RS

Job Description:

Summary

In a team-oriented work environment, independently performs a variety of structural assembly operations using required tools and appropriate prints, specs, and operational requirements.

Position Purpose

Complete work assignments and ensure conformance to specifications. Assists and instructs other team members.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required

6 years of related structural assembly experience

Experience working with Solumnia and Smarteam preferred

Q-stamp preferred

Must Have:

4 years of Sheetmetal and/or fabrication experience

Experience within the aerospace industry is highly preferred.

Valid Drivers License

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Skilled Specialist: Contribute to the development of employees and techniques.

Assembly and Fitting: Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures.

Blueprint Interpretation: Use complicated schematics/blueprints and engineering drawings.

Task Adaptability: Ability to move to new tasks with minimal impact.

Riveting: Rivet structural assemblies and parts using various tools.

Work Order Interpretation: Read work orders, blueprints, and operation sheets.

Quality Control: Check all work and ensure a defect-free assembly.

Mentoring: Mentor, train, and assist other team members.

Record Keeping: Maintain and use all logs and records.

Assembly and Alignment: Align and assemble parts to be riveted.

Repair and Rework: Make repairs and perform necessary rework.

Workload Planning: Plan and organize workloads and resource requirements.

Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a neat and orderly work area.

Lean Activities: Support Lean activities and comply with safety policies.

Other Requirements

Computer Skills: Good working knowledge of computers and related software.

Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Close Tolerance Work: Skilled in close tolerance work and knowledge of special tools.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to use mathematical formulas.

Measuring Devices: Thorough knowledge of multiple measuring devices.

Shift Work: Ability to work any shift.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders.

Work Environment: Ability to work in small spaces and/or restricted areas.

Language: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
