Designer Fabricator

Our Fabrication department is in need of a temp, and I wanted to see if this is a role you'd be able to assist in filling. Here is a description of the responsibilities and qualifications-- FULL TIME M-F RESPONSIBILITIES Operate a variety of woodworking and foam sculpting machinery and tools to fabricate cabinetry, millwork, and foam sculptures. Glue, fit and clamp parts and sub-assemblies together to form complete unit using clamps or clamping machine. Sand and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare for finishing. Verify dimensions and product specifications to ensure accuracy and fit. Assemble and prep units for finishing with precision and attention to detail. Willingness and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done with thinking Safety First. Ensure that all the required parts for assembly are present when constructing/finishing a project. Take part in product development meetings, which includes testing and troubleshooting products for functionality. Ensure that quality control standards are met, and all parts are properly fitted, and aligned. Report and detail product malfunctions. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Previous experience with assembly work, which would include woodworking, carpentry, sculpting and/or finishing. Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools including their design, repair and maintenance preferred. Great attention to detail and great hand eye coordination. Outstanding work ethic and dependability. Proactive self-starter with a positive attitude. Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Knowledge and experience reading and understanding blueprints, drawings, and written directions. Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods. Able to operate machinery such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills effectively and safely. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Able to Exert force/lift up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently. Ability to stand for sustained periods of time. Comfortable working within a loud environment, due to noise generated by machinery. Able to work additional hours and weekends as needed.
