As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be a critical contributor to our North American projects, responsible for the comprehensive electrical design and integration of BESS into utility grids. responsibilities:
- Grid Code Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to critical grid code requirements, including Anti-Islanding, Frequency Ride-Through, and Voltage Ride-Through, for seamless integration with utility power grids.
- Medium Voltage System Design: Lead the design and interface of medium voltage inverters with utility power grids, including the precise sizing and configuration of medium voltage drives, transformers, protective relays, and switchgear for BESS.
- Electrical System Analysis: Conduct comprehensive electrical analyses, including Arc Flash analysis, for large electrical systems up to 5MVA drive systems, encompassing upstream grid connections at 15KV, 20KV, and 34.5KV lines.
- Code & Standard Adherence: Apply in-depth knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) and UL (Underwriters Laboratories) rules for both low and medium voltage applications, ensuring all designs meet the highest safety and compliance standards.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain all necessary technical documentation, including datasheets, technical specifications, and project-specific warranties (product and EPC) for projects across North America.
- Electrical CAD Design: Utilize AutoCAD to create detailed electrical drawings for power and control systems, ensuring accuracy and clarity for implementation.
qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in designing utility-scale applications, specifically involving medium voltage transformers and inverters.
- Proven expertise in power grid interface code knowledge.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical drawing.
- Hands-on experience with electrical modeling and analysis software such as EasyPower or ETAP for generating reports on Power Flow, Protective Relays, Harmonic Studies, Short Circuit, and Arc Flash.
