- Shoot and buck rivets to specifications.
- Recognize differences in types of metals including structural strength and thickness.
- Perform sheet metal bends to guidelines and specifications as dictated in normal aviation practices.
- Remove existing rivets from aircraft structure.
- Build components for aircraft applications using a variety of sheet metal materials.
- Perform repairs to the aircraft and determine which repairs can or cannot be made.
- Read blueprints to ensure build and modification completion, following both written and verbal instructions.
- Minimum of 5 years of sheet metal experience on any aircraft.
- FAA Airframe license required.
- 4 years of aviation experience in installation, fabrication, repair, depot maintenance, modifications, and heavy maintenance.
- Proficiency in aircraft modification and sheet metal techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Preferred experience on Dash8, King Airs, Gulfstream G4, or Boeing aircraft.
- Possession of all tools on the minimum tool list, with tools etched with a unique identifier and toolbox shadowed.
This is a Contract position based out of Bridgewater, Virginia.
