Your Impact
Axon is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Engineer, Outpost to support the deployment of our advanced License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology for public safety and government agencies. This role combines hands-on fieldwork, coordination with internal teams, and interaction with external partners to ensure high-quality installations that help protect communities.
You'll contribute to multi-site deployments, working alongside project leads and vendors to deliver reliable and efficient installations that meet Axon's quality, safety, and performance standards.
What You'll Do
Location: Remotely from the United States
Travel: Ability to travel up to 75% nationwide
Reports to: Senior Manager, Professional Services
- Support LPR deployments through installation, power readiness, hardware setup, and field testing
- Apply working knowledge of 110VAC and 12VDC power systems to assist with electrical prep and troubleshooting
- Assist with coordinating logistics between internal teams, contractors, and public safety agencies
- Provide on-site support during installs, ensuring alignment with safety and technical guidelines
- Gather and report data from field activities to help improve deployment processes
- Communicate project updates and site status using tools like Zoom, Outlook, Slack, Quip, Smartsheet, and Salesforce
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, mounting guides, and site blueprints to validate installation plans
- Collaborate with permitting, field ops, and vendor management teams to keep deployments on schedule
- Represent Axon professionally in the field, upholding our commitment to quality and respect in every interaction
What You Bring
- 2-4 years of experience in field operations, systems installation, or deployment support (public safety, telecom, utilities, or infrastructure sectors preferred)
- Familiarity with electrical systems (110VAC/12VDC) and mechanical installation best practices
- Experience working with contractors, utility providers, or public agencies (a plus)
- Strong communication and organizational skills; comfortable with both field and remote collaboration
- Proficient in using field ops and project tracking tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Salesforce, Slack)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, IT, Construction Management) or equivalent experience
- Valid driver's license required
