Job Description:

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for either a Project Engineer II or Senior Engineer to work within the Environmental Dredging and Restoration Group supporting our Maryland Port Administration Dredged Material Containment Facility and Marine Terminal projects. The successful applicant will provide proficient level engineering, planning, direction, and management to large civil construction projects from design through construction phases. This position will develop, direct, and oversee services and staff for multidisciplinary engineering, design, and project management of stormwater management, coastal design, dredging, mitigation, demolition and remediation related projects.

This position will be primarily located at our Headquarters Facility in Millersville, MD with some teleworking opportunities. This position will require regular visits to active project sites within the State of Maryland.

Estimated Pay Range:

Project Engineer II: $85,568.63-$117,656.87

Senior Engineer: $103,538.76-$142,365.42

Minimum Requirements:

Project Engineer II Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Geotechnical, Electrical or other generally recognized field of engineering from an accredited college or university plus eight years of relevant engineering experience and at least 1 year of experience managing staff. Professional Engineer Certification or a Masters Degree in an Engineering or Management discipline may be substituted for two years of required experience.

Senior Engineer Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Geotechnical, Electrical or other generally recognized field of engineering from an accredited college or university plus ten years of relevant engineering experience and at least 4 years of experience which included direct supervisory capacity managing technical and scientific staff. Professional Engineer Certification or a Masters Degree in an Engineering or Management discipline may be substituted for two years of required experience.

General Qualifications:

Must have a valid drivers license with less than 5 points.

Preferred Qualifications include:

Experience in dredging projects, including projects related to dredged material management and innovative or beneficial reuse, hazardous waste management and/or construction management preferred.
