About the Role
As an Assistant Community Maintenance Supervisor at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in supporting maintenance operations to ensure the safety, functionality, and appeal of our apartment community. This position requires hands-on maintenance expertise, supervisory skills, and strong organizational abilities, offering the opportunity to contribute directly to operational efficiency and resident satisfaction.

You will collaborate closely with the Community Maintenance Supervisor, maintenance team members, vendors, and property management, ensuring timely task completion, compliance with safety standards, and high-quality community upkeep. This is a full-time onsite role located in FLATZ 432 in Midland, TX

What Youll Do
Performs and schedules daily maintenance tasks, including unit preparation and preventative maintenance, to maintain community standards.
Assists in diagnosing and repairing minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance, and pool-related issues, ensuring timely resolution.
Supports maintenance team supervision by assisting with onboarding, training, scheduling, and enforcing performance expectations.
Maintains cleanliness and curb appeal of grounds, shared spaces, and amenities to foster a welcoming environment.
Ensures compliance with safety regulations and company policies by maintaining documentation, supply inventories, and supporting OSHA standards.

Who You Are
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in community property maintenance or a closely related field with demonstrated proficiency in repairs and preventative maintenance.
Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role preferred, including task assignment and mentoring.
High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or technical school training preferred.
Proficient in general maintenance tasks including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair.
Familiar with property management software such as Yardi and basic computer skills.
Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
Certifications preferred: EPA Universal Certification and Certified Pool Operator (CPO).
Eligible to work in the United States.

Compensation & Benefits
Below is the expected base salary range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.
