A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Design, Industrial Arts or other field closely related to the technical duties and knowledge requirements of the classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation, and Five (5) years of full time, paid-professional experience with the responsibility for preconstruction activities, architectural planning, design, construction, or development of major facilities, which includes three (3) years of supervisory responsibility of facilities construction project experience. A Certificate of Registration and a valid license to practice as a professional architect or engineer in the State of California or a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential is desirable. Equivalency Provision: A Master's degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Design, Industrial Arts or other field closely related to the technical duties and knowledge requirements of the classification may substitute for one year of required general experience. A Doctorate Degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Design, Industrial Arts or other field closely related to the technical duties and knowledge requirements of the classification may substitute for two years of required general experience. Advanced education cannot substitute for required supervisory work experience.
