Type: Contract Job Title: Mechanical Technician II Location: Newton, NC Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Newton, NC Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm Education: Associate's Degree Description Scope of Position: Support the Engineering Project Team with a focus on capacity additions and mechanical aspects of line installations and debug Lead and/or support manufacturing engineering projects and cross-functional teams for equipment installation, debug, and operational preparation Identify and resolve technical problems through root cause analysis and industrialized mechanical solutions Utilize knowledge of mechanical engineering, machining, and design processes to optimize manufacturing performance Lead or support new equipment/process introductions and continuous improvement efforts Develop and execute detailed project plans for timely, accurate mechanical support during multi-line equipment installations Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to resolve technical issues while managing project scope, schedule, and costs Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives Day to Day Responsibilities: Maintain and promote safe work practices, and report unsafe conditions Design and implement mechanical solutions and process improvements Coordinate and manage activities to meet project milestones and deadlines Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues using data and expert collaboration Manage spare part identification and storeroom entries across plant locations Develop and maintain engineering and operations documentation Provide training and support to operations staff on new or updated equipment and processes Required Education: Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field Required Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in manufacturing with new equipment installations Experience with equipment start-ups and facility expansions Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities Quick learner of new technologies and processes Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and troubleshooting skills Effective multitasking and independent work prioritization Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Strong written and verbal communication skills Desired Skills: Project leadership/management experience (including schedule and budget ownership) Vendor/supplier management experience (onsite and remote) CAD proficiency Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Soft Skills: Strong collaboration and team skills Ability to manage resources and meet aggressive project timelines Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities Clear, professional verbal and written communication Travel Requirements: Travel to project sites in Newton and Hickory, North Carolina expected Hours of Work/Work Schedule/Flex-Time: 40 hours/week with expected overtime Periodic off-hours work may be required to meet deadlines and coordinate with team members Additional Information No third party resumes will be accepted Drug testing and/or other employment-related screenings may be conducted CTG will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws All interested individuals MUST be able to work on a W2 tax basis (no C2C or third-party vendors) CTG is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer CTG is an E-Verify Company To be considered for this opportunity, please apply directly through our website by clicking the link below or email your Word version resume and salary expectations to ....
