Location: Kent, WA
Travel: Up to 25% (Domestic and International)
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience
Compensation: Includes billable field work, annual performance bonus, and relocation assistance

MSHS Pacific Power Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer, Controls (Level 1) to support the development, design, and commissioning of control systems for power generation and propulsion driven by steam, gas, and hydro turbines, as well as diesel and gas engines.

This entry-level role is hands-on and integral to the retrofit and conversion of control systems to Woodward programmable controls, as well as auxiliary systems such as PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, AVRs, protective relays, and power management systems. You will contribute to project execution from concept through field commissioning while also providing technical support and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and configure automation control systems for prime movers and auxiliaries
Program and test PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems
Work with Woodward control products
Provide onsite commissioning and technical support
Support internal sales, engineering, and technical account groups (TAG)
Respond quickly to urgent field service and technical support needs
Maintain clear documentation and customer communication throughout the project lifecycle

Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience required
Familiarity with automation control systems and instrumentation
Experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA systems and programming
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Strong communication skills in English (Spanish a plus)
Valid U.S. driver's license and passport
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%)
Self-starter with strong attention to detail and teamwork orientation

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $80,000 - $110,000, based on experience
