The Role

Lead Construction Manager oversees all aspects of outside plant ( OSP ) telecommunications construction projects in the Eastern Region, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality standards, coordinating with contractors, managing permits, and maintaining strict safety protocols across the project lifecycle, while adhering to local regulations and industry best practices.

The Main Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution:

-Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and cost estimates for fiber optic and infrastructure installations.

-Manage construction activities across all phases, including site surveys, trenching, conduit installation, splicing, and testing.

-Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

Contractor Management and Supervision:

-Oversee construction crews, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and addressing safety concerns.

-Ensure crews are trained in proper installation techniques, safety procedures, and company standards.

-Monitor subcontractor performance against project specifications and timelines.

Permitting and Compliance:

-Ensure permitting guidelines are followed as outlined by the permitter including timely permit closeouts.

-Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, including OSHA standards and industry best practices.

-Manage utility coordination with other utility companies to avoid conflicts.

Budget and Cost Control:

-Track project expenses and identify potential cost overruns.

-Implement cost-saving measures when necessary.

-Prepare project budget reports for stakeholders.

Quality Assurance and Reporting:

-Conduct quality inspections throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to standards.

-Generate detailed project reports including progress updates, safety metrics, and budget status.
