Construction Coordinator (Engineering)

PRG is seeking a skilled Construction Coordinator (Engineering) to join our Las Vegas, NV team. This role involves field and office responsibilities, ensuring the execution of outside plant telecommunications construction projects. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in underground fiber cable construction and engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review projects prior to pre-construction meetings to highlight any possible roadblocks.

  • Document information from construction crew and municipal inspector to ensure project alignment.

  • Verify that red lines and revisions are accurate prior to resubmission to relevant jurisdiction.

  • Serve as the liaison between Engineering and Construction to facilitate communication and ensure project specifications are met.

  • Update tracking spreadsheet and bug ticket with pertinent information during each milestone.

  • Evaluate and track potential municipality conflicts and moratoriums that may impact redesign.

  • Track any municipality template changes and update checklist.

Deliverables

  • Pre-Construction Meeting Summary Report: Detailed notes and action items documented from each pre-construction meeting, submitted within 24 hours of each meeting.

  • Construction Crew and Inspector Information Log: Comprehensive documentation of collected information, including red lines, revisions, and potential conflicts, to be submitted weekly.

  • Red Line Verification Report: A verified report of red lines and revisions, ensuring accuracy prior to city/jurisdiction resubmission, to be delivered within 48 hours of revision review.

  • Conflict Analysis for Engineering and Redesign Recommendations: Create folder and Update Tracker identifying conflicts that may require redesign, with engineering notes submitted within 72 hours of notification.

  • Operations Forced Relocations.

  • Engineering-Construction Liaison Report: Weekly summary of communication between Engineering and Construction, highlighting key decisions, project alignment, and potential issues.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in underground cable construction and fiber engineering.

  • Strong understanding of local area dig laws and regulations.

  • Working knowledge of and experience utilizing AutoCad.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interpret, communicate, and fulfill client needs.

  • Exceptional organizational and project prioritization skills.

  • Proficient in G Suite for creating and managing reports and data.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.

  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.

  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and insurance, with a willingness to travel to job sites (mileage reimbursement available).

  • Ability to work occasional overtime to meet project demands.

Work Environment

This role requires a combination of office and field work. You will be required to travel daily to construction sites. The role involves extensive walking, climbing stairs, and performing physical tasks in various weather conditions.

  • $32 to $40 per hour, depending on experience.
