A D. C. Taylor Co. service foreman is responsible for leading a service team of 1 or 2 service technicians to perform work safely and productively.

The service foreman will perform many commercial and industrial roofing services including preventive maintenance and housekeeping to minor repairs, re-roofs, and new construction installations up to 2,500 square feet. These roofing services will be performed on a variety of roofing systems including BUR, cold and torch-applied assemblies, coatings, EPDM, foam, metal, and single-ply.

This position requires excellent customer service skills and demands customer satisfaction. Additionally, this position may include extensive driving and/or travel. At times, out of town or overnight travel is required on short notice.

Key responsibilities include:

1) Safety and Efficiency:

• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and discipline to ensure efficient and professional roofing installation.
• Conduct regular safety meetings with crew members to discuss job site safety protocols.

2) Crew Management:

• Effectively manage the assigned crew, materials, equipment, and administrative work.
• Provide regular training, evaluation, and feedback to crew personnel.
• Allocate work strategically among crew members based on their skills and project requirements.

3) Project Planning and Execution:

• Examine roofs and penetrations to plan jobs effectively.
• Lead regular meetings with crew to discuss project progress and schedules.
• Ensure proper installation techniques and adherence to manufacturer specifications.

4) Quality Control:

• Oversee all aspects of roofing projects to maintain high-quality standards.
• Perform inspections and correct any errors in the roofing work.

5) Customer Relations:

• Communicate with customers about project status and address any concerns.
• Ensure the job site is clean and properly maintained after completion of work.

This role requires extensive experience in the roofing industry, strong leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of various roofing systems and safety protocols.

Essential

• Commercial roofing field experience or formal technical training.
• Current valid driver's license w/ a clean driving record from the last 7 years.
• Ability to use/learn business technology.
• Capable of working at elevations and performing strenuous activity relative to staging, carrying, and disposing of roofing material and equipment.
• Ability to travel on short notice, up to one week at a time.

Preferred

• OSHA 30-hour certification.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
