Civil Engineer

Job Description

A growing Utah-based civil engineering firm seeks a Civil Engineer EIT with experience in any aspect of municipal water design or treatment, including culinary or sewer water treatment. The EIT will design projects for cities involving the provision of potable water, disposal of wastewater and sewage, or prevention of flood-related damage. Responsibilities also include preparing environmental documentation for water resources, regulatory program compliance, data management and analysis, and fieldwork.

Responsibilities

  • Design projects for cities involving the provision of potable water, disposal of wastewater and sewage, or prevention of flood-related damage.
  • Prepare environmental documentation for water resources.
  • Ensure regulatory program compliance.
  • Manage and analyze data.
  • Perform hydraulic modeling and pipeline design.
  • Design domestic or industrial water or wastewater treatment plants, including advanced facilities with sequencing batch reactors (SBR), membranes, lift stations, headworks, surge overflow basins, ultraviolet disinfection systems, aerobic digesters, sludge lagoons, or control buildings.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience in municipal water design or treatment.
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling and pipeline design.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to present designs to mayors and the public.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in designing domestic or industrial water or wastewater treatment plants.
  • Knowledge of advanced water treatment facilities and systems.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Proficiency in other water modeling software.
Work Environment

The preferred work environment is in-office, 5 days a week from 8 am to 5 pm, with hourly compensation and 1.5x pay for overtime. Water engineers can work in Ogden, Salt Lake, Midvale, or Springville offices. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for the right candidate. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.21 - $36.00/hr.
