Maintenance Mechanic

Req Number** 159410 FlexStaff is looking for a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic with experience in bakery equipment maintenance. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, effective teamwork, and respect for production schedules. Familiarity with IT, security systems, and basic facility repairs is a strong plus. Location: Bronx, NY Salary Range: $30 - $35 Key Responsibilities: + Maintain and repair bakery machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance + Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly, minimizing downtime + Collaborate with the operations team to align maintenance work with production needs + Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment lifespan + Record maintenance activities accurately and keep equipment documentation up to date + Work with the team to quickly find effective solutions, prioritizing immediate issues without delay + Stay updated on technological advancements, including IT and security systems, where relevant + Support general facility maintenance such as floor repair, plumbing, and sewer-related issues + Some tasks cannot be completed during active production hours, so scheduling flexibility-including evenings, weekends, or post-production hours-may be required Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred + Minimum of 5 years of experience in machinery maintenance, ideally in bakery equipment + Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems + Experience with Rondo and Hobart equipment is highly desirable + Experience or familiarity with IT and security systems is a plus + Ability to perform general facility-related repairs (e.g., plumbing, floor repair, sewer troubleshooting) + Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills + Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints + Effective communication and teamwork skills, with respect for operational schedules Benefits: + 401(k) matching + Health insurance + Paid time off + Ongoing training and professional development opportunities *Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
