Our Building Services Team and Projects
Our Building Services team, composed of skilled engineers and technical leaders, is key to optimizing building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort. While our work often goes unseen, it ensures the seamless operation of critical systems. We collaborate with architects and contractors to deliver integrated solutions across vertical structures, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection while focusing on sustainability and efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing
As a valuable part of our Building Services team, you will design, analyze, and evaluate structural systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure structural integrity, compliance with codes, and alignment with project goals.
Structural Design and Analysis: Lead the structural design of vertical projects, including new buildings, renovations, and additions. Design systems utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood to meet applicable codes, loads, and project requirements.
Technical Documentation: Prepare structural drawings, specifications, design reports, and calculation packages using software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and structural analysis tools.
Multidisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to integrate structural systems with other building components. Ensure constructability, efficiency, and compatibility across disciplines.
Code Compliance and Standards: Perform design and documentation in accordance with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and other relevant building codes and standards.
Construction Support: Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and performing site visits to verify installation accuracy.
Project Contribution: Assist in the development of project schedules, scope, and budgets. Work closely with project managers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of structural engineering services.
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Guide junior engineers and drafters, providing oversight and mentorship on design approach, software use, and technical documentation.
Quality Assurance: Conduct internal peer reviews and participate in project quality control processes to ensure structural integrity and technical accuracy of deliverables.
What you'll need
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
5-8 years of experience in structural design and analysis.
Proficiency in structural design software such as ETABS, STAAD, SAP2000, or RISA.
Strong knowledge of building codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE, AISC, and ACI.
Experience in designing multiple structural materials (e.g., steel, concrete, timber).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Requirements
Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward obtaining licensure.
Experience with seismic design and performance-based engineering.
Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit.
Knowledge of advanced analysis techniques, including finite element modeling.
Experience in a variety of project types, including bridges, high-rises, or industrial facilities.
