Civil Engineer EIT
Job description
Civil Engineer (EIT)
Fargo, ND
competitive
We're looking for a passionate and driven Civil Engineer in Training to join a collaborative team in Fargo, ND. This is an exciting opportunity for an entry-level professional with up to three years of experience in civil, geological, or geotechnical engineering to contribute to meaningful work in industrial, commercial, and environmental sectors. You'll play an integral role in both field and office settings, performing hands-on construction observations, soil and groundwater sampling, and supporting the preparation of civil designs and environmental compliance reports. Under the guidance of licensed engineers, you'll gain valuable, diverse experience that supports your professional growth.
From your first day, you'll be immersed in active projects that take you beyond the desk and into the field. Expect to engage directly with clients and contractors, interpret technical plans, use modern survey and modeling tools, and apply your skills to complex environmental and infrastructure challenges. The role requires flexibility to travel, a strong work ethic, and a readiness to work extended hours when needed during the busy construction season. A valid driver's license and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and teamwork are essential.
We value curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn. Whether you're testing materials with a nuclear density gauge, modeling stormwater with HydroCAD, or helping assess the stability of foundations and slopes, every day presents a new challenge and an opportunity to grow. This position begins in Spring 2025 and offers a competitive salary based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
If you're ready to build a career grounded in technical excellence, sustainability, and real-world impact-this is your chance to get started.
About us: Allen & York have been matching purposeful people with purpose-led organisations for 30 years. We partner with our clients and candidates on roles that build an understanding of climate change, promote sustainability and create inclusive and responsible organisations, working towards a sustainable world for us all. Committed to inclusiveness in the workplace, we aim to increase diversity across all areas and therefore welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of their ethnicity, race, gender, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, age, or whether or not they have a disability. Let's help build a better world, together.
