What you would engage in:
Our focus is on the application of critical thinking to the management of mine waste and water. If continuing your career journey with us, you would be part of our Mining Environmental Group, based out our growing Phoenix office. The role of Junior Geotechnical Engineer comes with the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule and will provide you with the opportunity to:
Work on a variety of projects that may include site characterization, slope stability, numerical modeling, foundation design, tailings dam design, embankment dams and earthworks design.
Visit project sites, gathering information as required to complement design activities and get involved in site investigation and drilling programs, core logging, lab testing, instrumentation installations and monitoring, as well as data review and analysis.
Work with diverse teams of multi-discipline engineers and designers from conceptual design through to construction.
Receive ongoing guidance and mentorship from leaders in the industry in a supportive, dynamic company culture that supports career development.
Travel to various project sites within Arizona and internationally.
What we require:
We respect the knowledge and experience you have gained to date and are willing to help you build on it. We do however require the following qualifications:
A degree in civil, geotechnical, or geological engineering, with a desire for continued development
You must be eligible to register as a professional engineer-in-training in Arizona.
Exposure to slope stability and seepage analysis; dam design; earthworks and construction is ideal
An ability to build relationships with multidisciplinary project-based teams
In addition to the must have requirements you will excel in the role if you have the following:
An ability to find creative solutions and know how to present them
An ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and industry partners
An interest in facing the challenges and opportunities posed by mining and mine waste management engineering
Demonstrate that you are flexible and seek solutions rather than focus on problems
