Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

Key Responsibilities Cost Estimation: Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civil projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimates. Cost Factors: Identify and quantify cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses. Bid Proposals: Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and bid proposals. Subcontractor Evaluation: Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Cost Monitoring: Monitor and update cost estimates as project details evolve. Budget Development: Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of estimated and actual project costs. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in heavy civil projects. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid software is essential. Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Local Knowledge: Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in New York City.
