Carpenter/Foreman Job Description The Carpenter/Foreman will work on commercial and multi-family projects in the IC/CR corridor. The role primarily involves tasks such as rough carpentry, casework, hanging doors and windows, framing walls and structures, some drywall work, and ensuring clean job sites by sweeping and removing trash. Additional duties include setting pre-hung doors, wood and steel framing, and cabinet installation. Responsibilities Perform rough carpentry work on commercial and multi-family projects. Conduct casework and installation of doors and windows. Frame walls and structures using wood and steel. Assist with drywall installation and maintenance. Ensure job sites are clean by sweeping and removing trash. Set pre-hung doors and install cabinets. Essential Skills 2+ years of commercial or residential carpentry experience. Proficiency in wood framing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in finish carpentry. Ability to use hand and power tools efficiently. Knowledge of concrete work and reading blueprints. Work Environment Work on mixed-use and multi-family commercial construction projects. The team will be small, comprising around 4-5 people, amidst several subcontractors with 20-30 individuals on site. The current projects include a new warehouse build south of the IC airport, a hotel in CR, housing developments in North Liberty and Coralville, and a church addition in Tiffin. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The dress code includes jeans, work jeans, and boots, with PPE provided including a hard hat, safety vest, and glasses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Iowa City, Iowa. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
