Solar Electrician

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The primary job responsibility is to run DC conduit,wire, and cable from photovoltaic modules to inverters and AC conduit,wire, and cable from inverter to the electrical interconnection forcommercial and residential sites. The position requires followingschematics, written instructions, and verbal directions. You should havesome experience working with electrical service equipment, metersockets, etc. Ideal position for a person who is hands-on, mechanicallyinclined, and self-motivated. In addition to requiring a journeymanlicense, previous solar and/or construction experience and trainingwould be a plus. Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designatedpartitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires orcables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. Work fromladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electricalwiring, equipment, or fixtures. Use a variety of tools or equipment,such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools,and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring,equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or powertools. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or othercomponents. Maintain current electrician\'s license or identificationcard to meet governmental regulations. Diagnose malfunctioning systems,apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locatethe cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Test electricalsystems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, orfixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, oroscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Direct ortrain workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring,equipment, or fixtures.
