TIG Welder Currently hiring a TIG/MIG welder in the Chicago, IL area. Hiring immediately. Shift : 1st/2nd shift available. Job Description Read blueprints, bills of materials, and written work orders to fabricate welded parts. Maintain all shop equipment, tools, and fixtures to ensure their availability and proper functioning. Keep accurate production records, including the number of good and defective units produced. Reject damaged or non-conforming items, record shortages, and communicate findings to the Leadsman or Plant Manager. Perform mathematical calculations for measurements and work with tolerances of 1/64 of an inch. Use measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers to verify product identification. Essential Skills Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and complex drawings. Experience with robotic welding and programming, specifically DX-100 Welding Work Center. Familiarity with hand-held measuring instruments. Capability to detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions. Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing shop plant where employees are exposed to vibration, moving mechanical parts, and other manufacturing tools. The environment requires adherence to safety regulations. The position offers two shifts: 1st shift from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm and 2nd shift from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am, with overtime as needed. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
