Forklift Operator Job Description Join our team and contribute to the creation of various concrete structures, such as highway medians, sound barriers, concrete pipes, and manhole covers. As a Forklift Operator, you will primarily drive rough terrain forklifts and occasionally operate other equipment like warehouse forklifts, front end loaders, skid steers, and yard dogs. Responsibilities Drive rough terrain forklifts. Operate warehouse forklift, front end loader, skidsteer, and yard dog as needed. Start as a yard person and progress to handling materials inventory and product assembly. Learn and manage materials inventory, ensuring proper levels and notifying management for reorders. Receive and properly store materials. Essential Skills Proficiency in operating a forklift. At least 1 year of experience with rough terrain forklifts. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of materials inventory management. Experience with product assembly is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment Our work environment has a team-oriented atmosphere with a total of 30 employees, including 1 supervisor and 5 leads. Workdays start at 6 AM from Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays, and typically last 8-12 hours until tasks are complete. The setting resembles a construction site within a warehouse, featuring numerous machines and three overhead cranes. With four garage doors open for ventilation, temperatures can range from 70 to 100 degrees, resulting in a very dirty but collaborative space. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portage, Wisconsin. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
