Marine Equipment Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Marine Equipment Technician with expertise in ship repair and maintenance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in marine systems and a strong understanding of technical support for shipboard systems and integrated equipment. Responsibilities Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify marine equipment. Perform maintenance and technical support on shipboard systems and related equipment/software at various locations. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to resolve issues quickly. Apply comprehensive understanding of production and processes to complete assignments. Interface with customers, manage subcontractors, and provide work direction to others. Perform a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks. Develop and utilize technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, and reports. Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management. Perform duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignments. Essential Skills Marine systems expertise Ship repair knowledge Experience with valves, electrical systems, hydraulics, and diesel engines Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals Experience with various power tools and measurement devices Knowledge of safety and quality control procedures Additional Skills & Qualifications Must be a U.S. citizen High School diploma or equivalent 2 years of related experience Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing structural and mechanical systems Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance Ability to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is located at Naval Station Norfolk, providing an exciting opportunity to work in a strategic maritime environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
